MUSIC Comic

Happy Monday! I thought I'd share with you the little project I was working on over the weekend: a short comic tentatively entitles Music.

This comic came to me years ago as I was walking home from college one night. The night was crisp  and cold and the air felt charged, there were people bustling all about but I felt completely alone. Then suddenly I heard it, a busker further up the street had started to play a classical piece and instantly I felt warmer and brighter. it was as if the music had transported me to a different world. I was so moved by this moment that I immediately raced home and tried to capture it as a comic.

Alas and alack and rather frustratingly I wasn't really able to express visually what that moment made me feel. Years later and here I am, giving it another shot. I feel like this time I've managed to portray the story a bit better. But then again, maybe not ahaha. In hindsight this was the perfect idea for my major animation, if only I had thought of it at the time. Perhaps one day I will go that extra step and put this piece to movement.

I'm hoping to do more short comics in the future and eventually move onto a bigger story. I have one larger scale story brewing but I need to work out all the kinks and stuff before I plunge in otherwise I know I won't see it through. My struggle for now is finding the time to work on this. With only a little over a month left in Europe I want to make the most of every day which means less time to draw, but at the same time I know that when I get back I won't have much time either. Ah well, it will be good time management practice.

Also: I'm always looking for comic (especially webcomic) recommendations so if you have any feel free to link them in the comments section. And thanks!

xx
Lily.
